Changes to state law governing HOA's spurred the PCHA Board to examine our costs in preparing disclosure packets presented to buyers when a property is sold. Increased regulations mean we must include more materials. Legal requirements governing HOA's have become more detailed meaning more consultation with our attorneys and increased legal fees. The fee that we were charging, unchanged for decades, no longer covered our expenses. To compensate for preparation costs, the Board voted at its September 18, 2014 meeting to increase the fee to $100, effective immediately. This fee is paid by sellers, in accordance with state law, at the time a property changes ownership.
